Applications for Class IX (2012/13) will be made available on or before December 2011.
The typical applicant has lived in Hawaiʻi for three (3) years or more and has demonstrated a sincere interest in the Hawaiʻi Island community by participating in voluntary activities.
Application forms are available in the Spring, with closing date around mid-/end of June. Completed application forms are reviewed by an anonymous committee of community representatives with a goal of making each class reflective of the community as a whole (example: public and private sector participation, professional, geographical diversity, etc.).
The current tuition fee is $1,100 (2011/12) per accepted participant and includes the cost of meals (lunch) at the monthly meetings, speaker/facilitator fees (if applicable), and accommodations/meals for the pre- and post-retreats.
